FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a four car crash on Interstate 94 near the exit for Interstate 29 that left one person seriously hurt.
Before the crash at around 8am Tuesday, authorities say there was a separate earlier collision that “resulted in slow-to-stopped traffic” on the eastbound side.
Three vehicles had to come to a slow stop because of the backup.
While traffic was stopped, a 22-year man driving a mid-size car failed to recognize the stoppage and rear-ended one of the vehicles, which was a full-size car.
That full-size car was then pushed into an SUV, which then hit a fourth car.
None of the drivers sustained injuries, but a 70-year old female passenger in one of the vehicles was transported to Sanford Medical Center for serious injuries.
The driver of the initial vehicle that allegedly caused the chain-reaction crash was cited by NDHP for following too close.
