Overnight car fire in Cass County linked to stolen vehicle case in Fargo

Cass County, N.D. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says a car that caught fire overnight turned out to be a stolen vehicle out of Fargo.

Just before 4am on Tuesday, authorities say the vehicle was on fire along State Highway 46, just two miles west of Interstate 29.

Nobody was inside the car when the flames were put out, and first responders say no one was even seen around the vehicle when they arrive, adding they are unaware of any injuries.

The sheriff’s office says the vehicle was confirmed stolen from Fargo, where police are now working with the county to investigate.

Although it’s unclear when the vehicle was actually stolen, police are asking the public to contact them with any information related to the case.
