Public input sought for West Fargo school bus route safety study

West Fargo, N.D. – The public is being asked to share their thoughts on a new study that will review the safety of school bus routes and walks to school in West Fargo.

The Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments is leading the two-year study in partnership with West Fargo and the city school district.

The public can submit their thoughts either online or through traditional mail through June 6th.

In a written statement, Metro COG says the study will “analyze existing conditions…to provide comprehensive recommendations for making walking and biking to schools safer and more convenient for students.”

The first year will look at 7 schools:

• Brooks Harbor Elementary
• Eastwood Elementary
• Harwood Elementary
• L. E. Berger Elementary
• South Elementary
• Westside Elementary
• Cheney Middle School

Other schools, which were not yet named, will be reviewed in the southern portions of West Fargo and Horace in 2026.

Parents and other interested members of the public can comment online here
