Red River Valley SWAT team planning Fargo training exercises

(Fargo, ND) — The Red River Valley SWAT Team will be conducting training exercises at the following locations and times on Thursday, July 18:

600 block of Morrison Street in West Fargo, from 12 to 4 p.m.
600 block of 3rd Street North, from 5 to 9 p.m.

SWAT Team members may be seen carrying firearms and moving around the exterior of buildings, however a police spokesperson says no live rounds will be used during the training exercises.

The public can expect to hear loud noises and yelling in the area.

Additionally, there will be several SWAT vehicles in the area with activated emergency lights.

There is no safety concern for the public or surrounding area, according to the spokesperson.

If residents have concerns, they are asked to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center by calling 701.451.7660 and ask to speak with one of the training facilitators at the training site.

This training exercise is not open to members of the media or the general public.
