MINNESOTA – Republican Kendall Qualls is filing to run for Minnesota governor.
The leader of conservative advocacy groups and former business executive said on social media Minnesota has become a “fraudster’s paradise” under Governor Tim Walz, citing the Feeding Our Future scandal.
A member of Qualls’ campaign says the politician will make a formal announcement soon.
Qualls lost the GOP nomination to run against Walz in 2022 to former State Senator Dr. Scott Jensen. Qualls also lost to Democratic former Congressman Dean Phillips in the race for Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District in 2020.
Walz hasn’t announced if he’ll run for a third term as governor.
Other Republicans in the race are former St. Cloud City Council Member Jeff Johnson, retired Navy intelligence officer Phillip Parrish and former mixed martial arts fighter Brad Kohler.
