FARGO, N.D. – A person had to be rescued and a cat died because of an apartment fire in Fargo.
Crews responded to the 1500 block of 27th Avenue South around 2:15 AM Thursday, October 30. That’s a few blocks west of The Bowler.
Firefighters found flames in an apartment on the second floor that spread to the outside of the building, up to the third floor and into the attic.
The apartment building had to be evacuated and a person had to be rescued from the third floor. No one was hurt.
The fire department called a second alarm to bring in more crews.
Officials say the fire was put out after an hour.
A cause is under investigation and a cost estimate of the damage isn’t available.
The fire department is working with the apartment owner to see if part of the building is livable.
