Listen: Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner’s conversation on WDAY Radio’s The Jay Thomas Show
FARGO, N.D. – There are more than 2,000 active misdemeanor warrants Cass County deputies are ready to enforce.
With the new jail’s addition, or pod, expected to be finished sometime in August, it will give more space to keep those who have been arrested or have detention orders.

Sheriff Jesse Jahner warns if you have a misdemeanor warrant, you have up to three weeks to take care of it. That includes calling the county’s warrant hotline at 701-241-1283. Court staff can work with someone with a warrant to set a new court date or schedule bond. If not, deputies will be looking for them at their home or workplace.
“This is your opportunity to take responsibility. Don’t wait until the choice is no longer yours,” Jahner explained.
Since the pod isn’t open yet, there are capacity issues.
“In some of these situations, those having outstanding warrants would comment that they knew the jail was full and that they would not be arrested,” Jahner explained.
