(AYR, ND) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi collided with a train Saturday morning in rural Cass County.The crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Cass County Road 4 north of Ayr.
The driver of the Kenworth truck was eastbound at a railroad crossing when he slid into the side of a rail car. The Patrol says the railroad crossing had its crossbuck down and lights activated with a train actively passing by. Minor injuries were reported to have been sustained by the 36-year-old male truck driver, who was taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo as a precaution. The train was damaged at its coupler, causing it to split. There was heavy damage to the truck.
