LISTEN – Senator Kevin Cramer on “The Jay Thomas Show”.
WASHINGTON – An emailer on “The Jay Thomas Show” asked North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer about the public’s right to know about Senator Mitch McConnell’s health.
“I’m a little weirded out, frankly, about someone unless they’re from Kentucky that’s concerned about another state’s senator and whether or not they’re entitled to know about him,” Cramer said.
ABC News reports the 84-year-old has been hospitalized for nearly a month and emergency medical personnel were sent to his home last month to attend to an unconscious person appearing to be in cardiac arrest.
“We have this, sort of, celebrity aura over certain politicians and I don’t think we’re entitled to anything about anybody that’s private… it’s their private lives even more than we do the president,” Cramer explained.
Cramer said he hasn’t called McConnell recently.
