FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -Minnesota State University Moorhead Public Safety says a sexual assault was reported this week inside a campus residence hall.
The incident happened just after midnight on September 1st in Dahl Hall. It was reported to Public Safety three days later, on September 4th, around 10:30 a.m.
Officials say the victim, an MSUM student, reported being assaulted by another student they know. The case involves non-consensual fondling.
The university issued a timely warning, as required under the federal Jeanne Clery Act. That law requires schools to notify the campus community about certain crimes that may pose a serious or ongoing threat.
MSUM is also reminding students about resources available on and off campus, including counseling services and crisis hotlines. Public Safety can be reached at 218-477-2449.
Valley News Live is continuing to look into this case and will provide updates as soon as more information is released.
