Shop a total loss after a trash fire in rural Dent, Minn.

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. – A trash fire at a home in rural Dent, Minnesota resulted in a shop going up in flames, and a woman who needed treatment for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters from Dent, Vergas and Pelican Rapids were sent to a home on the 37000 block of 310th Avenue beginning around 11:00 Thursday night.  Authorities say 63-year-old Shirley Bush was taken to the hospital.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says Robert Bush told investigators he was burning garbage next to a steel drum with aerosol cans inside. They exploded leading to the shop catching fire.  A nearby home has smoke damage.

Fire officials say the building and two vehicles, a snowblower and power tools inside it are total losses.
