CASS COUNTY, N.D. – Sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols have been scheduled for Friday, September 5 in Cass County.
The Highway Patrol and Cass County Sheriff’s Office want to make sure impaired drivers are taken off the rules and remind you to get a sober ride.
As of August 28 there have been 57 deaths on North Dakota roads according to state numbers. That includes 16 related to alcohol.
“Every time you choose to drive sober, you protect lives – yours and everyone else’s on the road,” NDHP Sgt. Adam Malafa said in a press release obtained by Flag Family News. “Responsibility behind the wheel isn’t just a choice; it’s a commitment to your community’s safety.”
This is all going towards North Dakota’s Vision Zero campaign to aim for no deaths or serious injuries on the roads in the state. It was created in 2018 by former Governor Doug Burgum and the state’s departments of transportation and health, and the Highway Patrol.
