St. Paul, M.N. – Governor Tim Walz is scheduling a special election on Tuesday November 4th to fill two open Minnesota State Senate seats.
The vacancies are connected to DFL member Nicole Mitchell, who resigned following her burglary convictions, and Republican Bruce Anderson who passed away on July 21st.
November 4th also happens to be the same day as the U.S general election.
If needed, Walz’s office says special primary elections will be held on August 26th.
Mitchell held District 47 which includes the cities of Woodbury and Maplewood, while Anderson represented District 29 which covers portions of Hennepin and Wright Counties.
