St. Paul man jailed after chase in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A Saint Paul man is behind bars after a high-speed chase through the streets of Grand Forks.

Just before 4 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull over 38-year-old Aaron Wangen on I-29 for a lane violation. Wangen refused to stop, leading officers through the city—at one point driving into oncoming traffic on Demers Avenue.

The pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour before deputies used spike strips and a PIT maneuver to pin the vehicle on County Road 81.

Wangen faces several charges, including fleeing, reckless endangerment, and DUI.
