MOORHEAD, Minn. – DFL State Representative Heather Keeler of Moorhead announced a run for Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District’s seat and said on social media she wants to “lead with love”.
“Now more than ever it’s critical that we have leaders who are working hard to fight for healthcare access, affordable and safe housing, and food security, while also making sure our local economy is put first,” Keeler said in statement.
Keeler has represented Moorhead and Oakport Township in the Minnesota House since January 2021.
She said her top accomplishments include passing the Pathway Home Act to address homelessness, securing emergency food shelf funding, expanding SNAP access and leading the statewide School Attendance Task Force.
“Even in a DFL trifecta, I found it deeply important to continue to work across political differences, across communities, and across generations, to ensure we could find ways to lead together,” Keeler said.
The other candidate running for the Democratic nomination for Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District’s seat is Erik Osberg who has worked in financial services.
