MINNESOTA – Republican State Representative Kristin Robbins of Maple Grove suspends her campaign for Minnesota governor.
“Our state government and political system are broken, and after fighting for Minnesotans from the inside for the past eight years, I have determined that the best way for me to fight for the future of our state is from the outside,” Robbins wrote in a statement.
Robbins says she’ll continue to fight in the House of Representatives for the rest of the legislative session and as a private citizen next year.
“I believe more than ever that it’s going to take a grassroots coalition of common-sense Minnesotans to save our state. And that starts with our families, faith and communities, not government,” Robbins wrote.
There are now seven Republican candidates for Minnesota governor including Speaker of the House Lisa Demuth, businessman and veteran Kendall Qualls, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, State Representative Peggy Bennett of Albert Lea, former UFC fighter Brad Kohler, CEO of Good Sense Foods Patrick Knight and retired Naval intelligence officer Phillip Parrish.
The only Democrat running is Senator Amy Klobuchar.
