GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Travis Bell of Fordville has reached a plea agreement in a criminal vehicular homicide case involving the death of a 6-year-old girl, according to court documents filed Friday.

The plea agreement was filed Jan. 23 in Grand Forks County District Court, just days before Bell’s scheduled trial date of Jan. 27.

Bell is accused of criminal vehicular homicide and injury after a June 2024 crash near Grand Forks killed 6-year-old Katarina Louthain.

The case gained renewed attention earlier this month when the North Dakota Supreme Court reversed a lower court ruling that had suppressed chemical breath test evidence. The high court stated the district court misapplied the law, concluding Bell voluntarily consented to the test.

Details of the plea agreement were not immediately available in court records.
