Trooper’s squad car struck in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. – No one is hurt after a Minnesota State Patrol squad car was struck in Moorhead.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Trooper Ben Bauer was responding to help Moorhead Police with an uncooperative person around 10:40 Tuesday morning. He was heading south on 20th Street South with his squad car’s emergency lights on when it was struck by an SUV. Authorities say Bauer and four people inside the SUV weren’t hurt and everybody was wearing seat belts. The road was wet from the rain and the squad car was towed.

Sheriff Mark Empting says the SUV driver has not been cited and the crash is still under investigation.
