Two arrested in hit and run crash last weekend in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Two people have been arrested after leaving the scene of a crash.

On Saturday, June 14, just before 7:45 p.m., Fargo police were called to the 600 block of 10th Street North for an injury crash involving a vehicle whose occupants fled the scene.

Upon arrival, police spoke to witnesses on scene who provided descriptions of a man and woman who were seen leaving the scene.

A short time later, police located the female suspect, identified as 33 year-old Miranda Risberg in the 800 block of 7th Avenue North.

Officers say Risberg was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, and she was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. She was also cited for multiple traffic violations.

At the same time that officers located Risberg, they also located the male suspect, identified as 27 year-old Shelby Whitt in the 800 block of 12th Avenue North.

Police say they had been attempting to locate Whitt in connection to an incident that happened on Tuesday, June 10.

He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple warrants including felony reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to appear in court and fleeing a peace officer.
