FARGO — A vehicle that fled a traffic stop in Fargo resulted in a crash Friday night.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy attempted a stop in the 1800 block of 19th Avenue North before 9 p.m. The vehicle immediately fled the stop at a high rate of speed, which caused the deputy to terminate the pursuit due to safety concerns.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle was involved in a crash with an uninvolved motorist, resulting in disabling damage to both vehicles.
The sheriff’s office detained a 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, who were both transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A search by deputies resulted in the location of narcotics in the fleeing vehicle.
No one in the other vehicle was injured.
The crash is being investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, while the sheriff’s office investigates the criminal component of the crash.
