Washington, D.C. – A Senate panel is recommending confirmation of Nicholas W. Chase to become the next U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota.
Before the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the nominee, to the full Senate for consideration, U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer made the initial recommendation to President Trump for Chase to take the role.
“Nick Chase has the right background and experience to serve as the U.S. Attorney for North Dakota,” said Senators Hoeven and Cramer in a joint statement.
“He’s tried cases ranging from trafficking and child exploitation to narcotics to fraud and money laundering, helping to make our state safer and more secure.”
Chase is currently the North Dakota District Court Judge for the East Central Judicial District, a role he assumed care of former Governor Doug Burgum’s appointment.
Chase also previously worked for 20 years with the North Dakota U.S. Attorney’s Office.
