FARGO — Fargo Police say a vehicle was found near the Dike East Boat Ramp earlier this week.
On Wednesday, October 22, an independent Missing Person Cold Case Dive Team named Adventures with Purpose appeared to locate the vehicle using sonar technology. Their search was conducted in relation to a missing person case out of West Fargo, North Dakota for 53-year-old Jonett Wanner, who has been missing since July 11, 2023. The West Fargo Police Department is currently investigating that case.
This morning, at approximately 10:20 a.m., the vehicle was pulled from the river and examined by The Fargo Police Department. After initial investigation, it appears the vehicle has been in the river for quite some time, and there was no evidence of anyone being in the vehicle, according to Criminal Investigations Captain Matt Christensen.
At this time, it does not appear the vehicle is related to the West Fargo Police Department’s missing person case.
The Fargo Police Department is working with its agency partners to try to identify the circumstances under which the vehicle entered the river and who might be associated with the vehicle.
This remains an active investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
