Voters strike down referendum for Rothsay Public School

ROTHSAY, Minn. – Voters in the Rothsay School District strike down a referendum.

One hundred fifty people voted against it (59%) and 103 people (41%) voted in favor of the plan.

The referendum would have increased its general education revenue by $1,300 per student. The money would have funded several things including classroom supplies and activities, student support services and building operations.

If passed, property taxes would have increased $948 per year for a home with a market value of $250,000.
