WEST FARGO, N.D. — A West Fargo church says an investigation is underway regarding financial misconduct regarding involving a former employee.
“Faith Journey Lutheran Church confirms that it discovered financial misconduct involving its former Business Manager, Carly Tufte,” the church said in a press release. “Upon discovering unauthorized financial activity, Church leadership immediately took action, including notifying appropriate authorities and initiating a full review of church finances.”
It’s estimated that the church has lost in excess of $600,000.
“We are deeply saddened and disappointed by this breach of trust,” said Pastor Sue Koesterman. “Our congregation and community deserve transparency, integrity, and accountability, and we are committed to upholding those values.”
