West Fargo man arrested after allegedly jumping on hood and roof of stolen truck

WEST FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – On Friday, July 25 around 7 pm, West Fargo police was dispatched near 26th Ave W and 5th St W after receiving a call from a witness that a man was jumping on the roof of a red pickup.

Police arrived on the scene and detained 19-year-old Nathan Normandin after he was seen jumping onto the hood, then to the ground.

Police observed that the pickup had been stolen and then spoke with the owner of the vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle stated that he stopped at his home for a couple minutes before work.

He then saw his truck moving with Normandin inside of it as the vehicle began to drive slowly.

The owner had advised Normandin to get out, however the truck continued to move. The owner then chased the truck, hopped on the side rails, and was able to grab Normandin by the wrist and pull him out of the vehicle.

Normandin was placed under arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief.

The pickup had an estimated value of $20,638.
