Fargo, N.D. – A family of four from West Fargo won Flag Family Media’s ‘Great Grocery Giveaway’ contest during a exciting and dramatic grand prize party on Thursday night at Kingpinz in Fargo.
Steven Pollert walked away with $10,000 worth of free groceries for an entire year.
“That was very awesome,” Pollert during a call in to The Flag the next day on Friday.
Registration for the contest began in June.
Dozens of entrants were selected at random and revealed periodically on air on WDAY and AM 100 The Flag, as contestants were given a certain time frame to call in and qualify.
Qualifiers were narrowed down to three finalists, who had to guess the correct dollar amount of collective grocery items to claim the grand prize live in person at Kingpinz.

Pollert came the closest, and says the grand prize will go a long way.
“I have four kids from 16 [year old] down to five,” said Pollert. “It’s just a busy life.”
Before the day of the grand finale arrived, Pollert admits he came close to possibly missing the main event.
“My wife is actually pregnant acting as a surrogate for a family, and her due date is today [July 11th] so she was a little nervous about that,” said Pollert, whose wife was on hand.
Pollert will receive $733.33 a month from Hornbacher’s and $100.00 a month from Alsager Meats for 12 months.
“It’ll make a huge difference,” said Pollert.
