WEST FARGO, N.D. – A Captain with the West Fargo Police Department says the City needs to start looking at upgrades to its municipal courtroom.
“Especially as we’re seeing that, over the last few years, an increase in cases that we’re seeing,” Captain Brad Cruff told Commissioners. “I think the time has come to really look at making some security upgrades for that.”
In 2022, the municipal court heard a total of 3,274 cases; in 2025, that number is projected to increase to 4,266, an increase of 30 percent. Officials predict that number will ‘continue to grow alongside the City.’
The current courtroom was originally designed as a dual-purpose facility. It used to house the West Fargo City Commission meetings in addition to court. But with it now being used solely as a courtroom, there’s potential for changes.
Commissioners approved a proposal from DakBUILT for more than $44,000.
