WEST FARGO, N.D. – The West Fargo Police Department is trying to raise even more money this year for breast cancer research.
In addition to the sale of patches and commemorative coins during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the department is also selling apparel online.
Community Engagement Officer Rhonda Jorgensen says all proceeds from the clothing, which are available online until September 28th, will also go to the Edith Sanford Breast Center.
“Everyone is excited about it,” Jorgensen told The Flag on Wednesday. “Hopefully we sell a lot and we can raise some good money.”
Jorgensen says a close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34.
“They caught it early thank goodness because it was pretty aggressive,” said Jorgensen. “Since then, it’s been my passion to raise awareness and find different ways to do that.”
