West Fargo Public Schools doesn’t livestream or record video of school board meetings

WEST FARGO, N.D. – West Fargo Public Schools, the second largest school district in North Dakota, doesn’t livestream or record video of its School Board meetings.

When asked by Flag Family News why that decision was made, district Director of Health, Safety and Public Relations Heather Leas said outside of the COVID-19 pandemic, WFPS has not consistently offered a livestream and/or a recording of meetings. She added North Dakota Century Code shows people living in the West Fargo School District can request a meeting be recorded.

She said that’s been done eight times since the law went into effect during the 2023-2024 school year and the audio of the meetings have been played an average of 45 times.
