Washington, D.C. – A deputy assistant to President Trump is supporting the administration’s recent crimefighting approach, and spoke more about the importance of the White House joining another social media platform.
Alex Pfeiffer, who also serves as principal deputy communications director, claims carjackings are down by 90% since Trump seized control of D.C. police and placed National Guard troops in the city.
“This is the nation’s capital in the world’s wealthiest country. It should not have a higher homicide rate than Bogota, Colombia,” Pfeiffer told The Flag’s Scott Hennen on Tuesday.

Leaders in other cities like Chicago have criticized the potential expansion of Trump’s plan, arguing the military is not needed to control crime.
Pfeiffer also expressed his support of Trump’s executive order that threatens to pull funding from jurisdictions that offer cashless bail. Trump argues it compromises public safety.
“The president has the will to make this nation safer and he’s making sure that actually happens,” said Pfeiffer.
Also last week, the White House created an official TikTok account despite past national security concerns over surveillance since it falls under Chinese ownership.
Trump has repeatedly extended a deadline for TikTok’s parent company, Bytedance, to sell to a US buyer or be banned in the United States.
“We would not be doing our job if we weren’t using every single medium possible to reach voters,” said Pfeiffer.
“It’s an important medium that people use…people can have issues with ownership but they can’t escape the fact that it’s something tens of millions of Americans use every day to get information.”
