Two dead, two injured in overnight Sunday shootings in Fargo

FARGO, ND – Police are investigating two separate shootings that left two dead and two injured overnight Sunday.

The first happened in downtown Fargo.

The Fargo Police Department was called to the 50 block of Broadway at just before 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers located three adult victims and immediately began rendering aid while working to secure the scene.

Due to the size of the crowd and the fact that individuals were becoming unruly, mutual aid was requested from surrounding law enforcement agencies to assist with scene control and ensure public safety.

Fargo Police will release the name of the deceased individual 24 hours after the next of kin is notified.

The Fargo Police Department is asking anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660 or to submit a tip by texting FARGOPD and the tip to 847411.

The Fargo Police Department was assisted by the Moorhead and West Fargo police departments along with the Cass and Clay County sheriff’s departments.

Another person was shot and killed a short time later in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South, but police say it’s unknown if the two shootings are connected.
