Woman arrested after early morning water rescue in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Fargo Police Department says one woman is behind bars after fleeing from officers & jumping into the Red River.

Officials tell us while officers were at a separate call near the river at 12:07 this morning, one officer noticed a wanted woman walking near the 1st Ave. N bridge.

We’re told the woman is 24-year-old Shelby Goodman. Police tell us there were several warrants out for her arrest.

When Goodman was approached by an officer, she ran & jumped into the river. She eventually stopped and, with the help of the Fargo Fire Department, was taken out of the river.

Goodman was taken to a local hospital to be medically cleared, and now she’s in the Cass County Jail. She’s being held on charges of Refusal to Halt & Contact by Bodily Fluids-Law Enforcement.
