FARGO – A Fargo City Commissioner tells Flag Family News that Fargo Police Department officers are not answering all calls for service.
“That does happen now,” Commissioner Dave Piepkorn told WDAY Radio’s The Jay Thomas Show on Wednesday. “If you call 9-1-1, many times they start asking what is the issue, and then they won’t respond.”
Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney said Piepkorn’s claim is ‘totally false.’
“The chief and I just had a meeting on Monday,” Mahoney told The Flag’s Scott Hennen. “They’re responding to all the calls. They’re getting good response rates out there. They’re getting out there and seeing the people that need to be done.”
He said he’s ‘very frustrated’ with Piepkorn.
“He (Piepkorn) doesn’t understand what’s really going on,” Mahoney said. “We respond to every call. You (call) 9-1-1, we’ll have a cop there.”
