MINNESOTA – Following DFLer Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger’s victory in her Woodbury area election, Democrats will retain a 34 to 33 seat majority.
She fills the seat of former DFL State Senator Nicole Mitchell who was convicted of burglarizing her stepmother’s Detroit Lakes home.
Republican Michael Holmstrom, Junior won his election for a Buffalo area Senate seat. It was vacated when Republican State Senator Bruce Anderson who died in July.
Since DFL State Representative Kaohly Her defeated Saint Paul mayor Melvin Carter in that election, a special election will be held for her House seat.
