(Pasadena, CA)  --  NASA officials are releasing new photos of the rover Perseverance landing yesterday on Mars.  The chief engineer of the mission Adam Steltzner says this mission could produce more forever-remembered space pictures. The agency has released the first color photo from the Martian surface, along with a satellite photo of the rover parachuting down to the surface and a photo of the rover just feet before touchdown on the Martian surface.  Assistant Strategic Mission Manager Pauline Hwang says the rover continues to be working very well as it starts exploring the red planet.  She says there will hardware checks done this weekend along with panoramic photos taken of the rover and its landing area.
