(New York, NY) -- Pfizer says it has started a clinical trial testing its COVID-19 vaccine on children.
They say the trial will examine the effects of the shots on healthy kids between six months and eleven-years-old. They intend to enroll 144 children in the first phase of the trial.
The company has already started a trial to test its vaccine on kids between 12- and 15-years-old.
Public health officials have said vaccinating kids is key to ending the pandemic, as about 20-percent of the U.S. population are children.
