(Arlington, VA) -- President Biden is honoring those who lost their lives in service to the nation. At Arlington National Cemetery, Biden mentioned the loss of his own son, Beau, who also served. Biden told families of those who have lost a loved one there will come a day when their photo "brings a smile to your face before it brings a tear to your eye." He says we continue to have the freedoms we have because of the sacrifice of our troops. Biden says they will forever live in our hearts.
The President says America will never fail to honor the troops that have given this country the ultimate sacrifice. He says all military members deserve decency, honor, and dignity. Biden emphasized our soldiers put their lives on the line for democracy. He said we owe those troops our full effort to "protect the union." Biden says every generation has to fight for democracy to ensure lasting freedom.
