(Washington, DC) -- The Senate is approving the first Muslim American federal judge to serve on the bench.
Zahid Quraishi was nominated by President Biden and will be a U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey after he was easily approved on Thursday.
The vote was 81 to 16.
He was previously a magistrate judge in the Garden State.
