Study Notes Dramatic Drop In Life Expectancy

(Richmond, VA) -- A new study is taking a look at the effects of the pandemic on our life expectancy.

The results released this week in the British Medical Journal finds life expectancy in the U.S. dropped by almost two years between 2018 and 2020.

Life expectancy for Black and Latino people dropped by more than three years. Lead author Dr. Steven Woolf says this massive drop is unlike anything seen since World War Two, and he blames it on bad governance that exposed long-term systemic problems.
