Average Gas Price Almost $1 Higher Than Year Ago

(Fargo, ND) -- Americans are shelling out more at the gas pumps heading into the 4th of July weekend this year.

The current average gas price according to Triple-A is three-dollars and 12-cents. That's nearly a dollar higher than last year, when the average was two-17 a gallon.

Folks out west will feel the biggest pinch on their wallets, while gas prices are the cheapest across the south.
