(New York, NY) -- A Mexican politician is now under arrest in a scheme to sell pricey art forgeries in New York City.

U.S. Attorney for New York Audrey Strauss and the FBI have announced the arrest of Angel Pereda for his role in a scheme to sell forged artworks purportedly created by renowned artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.
