Senate Reaches Agreement On Capitol Security Funding

(Washington, DC) -- The top Democrat and Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee are striking a deal on funding for U.S. Capitol security.

Vermont Democrat Patrick Leahy and Alabama Republican Richard Shelby have come to a deal for two-billion dollars to upgrade security at the facility after the January 6th Capitol attack.

The funding would go toward Capitol Police, the National Guard, and other agencies that responded that day. It would also fund security upgrades at the Capitol complex.
