(Washington, DC) -- Weekly jobless numbers are up, according to the latest figures from the Labor Department.
The report says 351-thousand Americans filed first-time claims for unemployment benefits last week. That's 16-thousand more than the previous week's revised total and the highest in a month.
The sharpest increases in claims were in Louisiana, Washington, DC, Arizona, Maryland, and Missouri. Meantime, the biggest drops were in Illinois, California, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia.
