(Melbourne, Australia) -- Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Australia on a mission to shore up partnerships with regional allies and push back against China's growing power.

Blinken landed in Melbourne Wednesday and is expected to spend three days on the ground. He'll meet Friday with foreign ministers of the Quad group, made up of the U.S., Australia, Japan, and India.

The U.S.-led group was set up to counter China's military and economic clout.
