(Washington, DC) -- A bird flu outbreak is spreading to two more states.

The Agriculture Department says the cases have been detected in a flock of chickens in Kentucky, and backyard birds in Virginia. This is in the wake of nearly 30-thousand turkeys that had to be put down in Indiana after testing positive for the highly contagious strain.

Bird flu usually doesn't cause any symptoms in wild birds but can be deadly in domestic poultry.
