(Washington, DC) -- Vice President Kamala Harris will host a virtual White House meeting Tuesday to mark Equal Pay Day, and the Biden administration is expected to announce a series of steps aimed at closing the gender and racial pay gaps.
One of those steps is a new federal regulation banning the use of prior salary history in hiring and setting pay for employees.
The administration says that will "help break the cycle" of pay levels that can discriminate and follow women and workers of color.
