(Washington, DC) -- New work begins Monday to save the historic decision legalizing abortion.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will start the process for Wednesday's vote to make Roe v. Wade a federal law. The action comes before the Supreme Court possibly overturns the 1973 case, which would leave it up to states to decide for themselves.

The last attempt to pass such a law failed and isn't expected to have enough votes this time around either.
