(Uvalde, TX) -- The U.S. Justice Department is investigating the police response to the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

The director of the Texas Department of Public Safety admitted it was wrong for officers to have wait roughly an hour after the shooting started to confront the shooter, who killed 19 children and two teachers.

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden met privately Sunday with victims' families. The Bidens placed flowers at a makeshift memorial outside Robb Elementary School and attended Mass at a local Catholic church.
