(Washington, DC) -- The Supreme Court is set to make a ruling on a major Second Amendment case.

The case involves a New York law requiring anyone seeking a license to publicly carry a handgun to show a need for the permit and that they face a special or unique danger to their life. Oral arguments suggest the conservative majority court believes the need for such a permit is too restrictive.

A ruling striking down the law could result in a rollback of gun restrictions in a handful of states with similar laws. A decision is expected by early July.
