(Washington, DC) -- The Justice Department is launching a task force to protect women's reproductive rights.

The department said Tuesday the task force will monitor and evaluate state laws and enforcement actions that threaten to "infringe on federal legal protections" regarding reproductive healthcare. It also will monitor laws that seek to ban two drugs that are used to end early stage pregnancy.

The task force will also track state laws that "impair women's ability" to seek care in states where abortion is legal.
